One of the most beautiful villages in Spain, Culla

Culla is a small village in the Alt Maestrat region, in the northern interior of the province of Castellón, whose great historical-artistic, environmental and ethnological heritage, means that not only its Historic Site is worthy of the declaration of Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), but it is considered one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain.

The atmosphere of medieval magic is breathed in the network of its streets, alleys and squares, crowned by the remains of a castle of Muslim origin. Its historic centre, which has numerous restored medieval buildings that can be visited, is shown on the guided tour of the Templar Route, also being an incomparable setting for the celebration of Culla Templaria, a recreation of the Templar era in the town. In its surroundings there are two beautiful hermitages, an old mill restored and converted into an Interpretation Centre 'El Molí de l'Orde' and the 'Torre Matella' testimony of medieval architecture.

Surrounded by impressive landscapes and natural landscapes, valleys, ravines and mountains, among them stands out 'La Carrasca', a majestic centenary oak declared a monumental tree of the Valencian Community. Culla is included in the Camino del Cid and the Templar Route, as well as offering its own routes with guided and self-guided tours.
